The Fall Jazz Fest, set for October 20th at Crooners, will have two stages –  the Main Stage and the Dunsmore Jazz Room.

Ann Hampton Callaway

ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY is one America’s most gifted and prolific artists. A leading champion of the great American Songbook, she’s made her mark as a   singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host and producer. Voted by Broadwayworld.com as “Performer of the Year” and two years in a row as “Best Jazz Vocalist,” Ann is born entertainer. Her unique singing style that blends jazz and traditional pop, making her a mainstay in concert halls, theaters and jazz clubs as well as in the recording studio, on television, and in film. She is best known for Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical “Swing!” and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series “The Nanny.”.

Kenny Werner

KENNY WERNER has been a world-class pianist and composer for over forty years. His prolific output of compositions, recordings and publications continue to impact audiences around the world. In 1996 he wrote his landmark book, Effortless Mastery, Liberating The Master Musician Within. Werner has  since created videos, lectured world-wide and authored many articles on how musicians, artists or even business people can allow their “master creator” within to lift their performance to it’s highest level, showing us how to be spontaneous, fearless, joyful and disciplined in our work and in our life.

 

PATTY PETERSON JAZZ WOMAN ALL STARS

PATTY PETERSON is a dynamic vocalist, radio personality, and inspirational speaker. She is a world class Jazz/ R&B vocalist, a Jazz Radio show host on KBEM Jazz 88 in Minneapolis, a mainstay in the jingle and voice over industry and is an inspiring presenter on the national speaking circuit.  In 2016, Patty Peterson and the Jazz Women All-Stars made a terrific debut at the Twin Cities Jazz Festival in Mears Park. This ensemble celebrates the great women of jazz artists in the Twin Cities.

BOB DEFLORES

BOB DEFLORES began collecting and restoring films in 1953. Over the past 60 + years he has located and preserved hundreds of films from 1900 to 1950: rare jazz footage, newsreels, comedies  and more. Bob’s special interest is early jazz and big band films and will present and narrate rare jazz footage.

 

DENNIS SPEARS

DENNIS SPEARS has performed nationally and internationally as a featured vocalist with the vocal jazz ensemble Moore By Four, and serves as Artistic Director for Legends     Music Series at the Capri Theater where he has contributed greatly to the Capri being named Best Venue for Live Jazz in the Twin Cities.

JON WEBER

Always-inventive, encyclopedic sage of the piano, JON WEBER is a perennial Twin Cities Jazz Festival favorite and returns to perform at this year’s Fall Festival.

 

SOPHIA KICKHOFEL

16-year-old SOPHIA KICKHOFEL, a sophomore at Apple Valley High School, ranks among the nation’s most accomplished student alto sax jazz players in the country, having won one of two spots for her instrument on this summer’s 22-member National Youth Orchestra (NYO) Jazz roster.
