Andrea’s picks:  Kicking off the weekend: Makayla McCraven at the Walker (October 18). The Twin Cities “dean” of jazz guitar, Dean Granros offers a rare solo set opening Saturday Night Jazz at the Black Dog followed by the Jazz Bridge Project (October 19);  Twin Cities Jazz Fest’s Fall Fest at Crooners stars Ann Hampton Callaway and Kenny Werner, with two stages of local stars (October 20). Coming up: Drummer Peter Kogan brings a new quartet featuring saxman Brian Grivna to the Dunsmore Jazz Room (October 23).
