The JazzMN Orchestra continues its 2016-17 concert season with New Orleans Night, a tribute to New Orleans on Saturday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the Auditorium at Hopkins High School. Traditional jazz, second line brass bands, New Orleans jazz standards, and a little Cajun funk and blues make this a night of musical fun.
After a wildly popular concert tribute to “The Big Easy” in 2012, JazzMN Orchestra is again bringing a little Mardi Gras to Minnesota. In a concert filled with toe-tapping favorites, the program will include New Orleans’ classics such as “St. Louis Blues,” “Bourbon Street Parade,” and “King Porter Stomp,” along with music from Harry Connick Jr, Snarky Puppy, and the Dirty Dozen and Rebirth brass bands.
The all-star jazz band JazzMN Orchestra features Twin Cities jazz stars including Dave Karr, Pete Whitman, Brian Grivna, Dave and Kathy Jensen, Adam Rossmiller, Mary Louise Knutson, Joe Pulice and many talented musicians.
Single tickets are $33 – $31 (adults) and $18 – $10 (students) in advance; $37 – $35 (adults) and $20 – $10 (students) at the door. Advance tickets are available at jazzmn.org/tickets or by calling 800-595-4849.
